Organization Overview

CADO, is an autonomous body under Government of India, came into existence initially as a committee for expanding and improving upon the quality of academics in the educational institutions all over the country. Initially a national academic development council was set up in partnership with several educational institutions, state governments and headed by prominent people in the field of science, social sciences, economics etc.

With the Objective to achieve planned and systematic development of academics throughout the country and to assist the educational institutions and students all over the country, the primary focus was on ensuring the quality of academics in rural and and non-metro cities.

The Organization has pan-India operations and comprises of various divisions along with 18 Regional centres(upcoming). CADO shall have primary administrative office in Greater Noida, nation capital region & it's new headquarter is being developed in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The multitude of functions performed by CADO is very broad covering several aspects of all major spheres of academics. New programs are being developed, and research and training of students-teachers for equipping them to teach at foundational, preparatory, middle and secondary level of the new school system in alignment with modern education methods, so that students perform well in academics..

 

CADO plays a very significant role and has initiated various national projects & programs such as Online learning courses program, National self learning portal, Teaching Assistance Courses (TAP), Students Academics Development Program.

 

Revision of other teacher education programmes i.e. regulation, curricula and digital architecture are being undertaken by CADO in line with improvement of academics on national level. CADO not only strives for the development of academics on pan India basis but also aims to achieve the goal of quality education with satisfactory academics performance of students. The programs by CADO are expected to bring about a paradigm shift in the Academic atmosphere and national level with expectation in bringing high quality education to all sections of society.

CADO was setup as an automnomus body, funded by central government, under the MHRD,Govt. of India, as Education Infrstructure Development Organization,  with a view to generate a strong academic performance development in the field of both junior & senior school education, higher education & as well as competitive & professional examinations.Initially CADO was setup as "Educational Infrastructure Development Organization" CADO is focused on improvement of academics, & providing resources to both learners & instructors. The initial accent was on  complete coverage of entire academic spectrum in  Design, Development, Distribution and providing of  teaching & learning resources with emphasis on usage of technology, using online teaching, teaching assistance to teachers and learning assistance to students.

 

CADO is pioneering the developments of various products & programs that can provide academic benefit to wide ranging sections of Society and to all students both residing in metro cities as well as in the rural parts of the country. Some prominent some prominent programmes and projects initiated by CADO are:

• Proposal for Objective Questioning in School education

• Introduction of semester System in School education 

• Proposed setting up of more than 800 online learning centres all over the country

• Providing free mock exam practice to students all over the country

• Development of National Academic Framework 

• Setting up National Competitive Training Academy

The Organization is playing a very significant role in the development and growth of students and provide the training assistance to the teaching manpower in the sector of education. Though the initial thrust  was on just developing infrastructure for education, the Organization has now evolved into the national body focussed on "academic excellence" in the country. CADO is focused to cater to the needs of  all academic institutions, irrespective of their geographical location & financial standing. CADO has evolved as a multi-facade Organization serving multiple areas of Indian education and development of programs, products & services that are of critical significance to the country, for development of current & future human resource of the country.

CADO was setup under the Department of Education, as Infrastructure Development Organization on 11th April, 1967 with a view to generate a strong  indigenous capability in the field of professional grade electronics. The initial accent was on total self-reliance and ECIL was engaged in the Design, Development, Manufacture and Marketing of several products with emphasis on three technology lines viz. Computers, Control Systems and Communications.

 

Over the years, CADO pioneered the development of various products, methods, training programs, learning programs, study materials and scored several 'firsts' in these  fields prominent among them being country's, some of these are introduction of objective question format in school education, improvement  in RTE, developing continuous Evaluation Program.

The organization plays a significant role in the training and growth of methods, programs, courses &  high caliber academic and managerial manpower in the fields of academic research, evaluation methods, infrastructure development, adult education, rural education, text book design, curriculum development.

Though the initial thrust  was on meeting the infrastructure development Program, the expanded scope pursued by CADO enabled the organization to develop various products to cater to the needs of  Defence, Civil Aviation, Information & Broadcasting, Telecommunications, Insurance, Banking, Police, and Para-Military Forces, Oil & Gas, Power, Space Education, Health, Agriculture, Steel and Coal sectors and various user departments in the Government domain. ECIL thus evolved as a multi-product company serving multiple sectors of Indian economy with emphasis on import of country substitution and development of products & services that are of economic and strategic significance to the country.
